Im back just in time for Fantasy Football, the opening of our bitching new spot ?Eleven? and of course continuing to plan some of the best beer events on the planet! Been some time since I had any relevant extra news but I do for those who want to be in the know: Eleven.. Im sure a few people have heard whispers, rumors, innuendos etc about the new spot up in Normal Heights. Yes, we took over what use to be the Radio Room, Zombie Lounge, and Little Equity. We we?re real excited about what we could do in the space and after a ridiculous feet dragging ride with Sacramento we?ve finally completed our work on the space and are all good to go. I couldn?t be more proud of what we?ve done (about 8 weeks of work in 4). We had a vision for it 5 months ago and we nailed it. Those who are familiar with the space WONT recognize it J We have about 17 handles of draft beer on our bitchin/unique tap tower (dennis demanded we do) which is show casing great beer and our fabulous Eleven Lager (brewed locally), we have a full bar (with emphasis on bang for buck), games, Jukebox and live music even a BBQ/Matinee show once a week! We?ve got 2 house bands planned that we?ll be rotating on a fixed night weekly and of course will have live music a few times a week but NOT 7 nights a week. We will have beer events and of course cask ale. Louis Mello is our General Manager and pretty much will be running the show/working with me while Dennis and I continue to focus on Hamiltons and Small Bar. We?ve coined Eleven as ?YOUR Neighborhood Rock and Roll Joint!? Our grand opening weekend will start August 26th however, we will be open for the North Park Music Thing starting 2morrow. Im sure there is a couple speed bumps involved in the first week but this aint our first rodeo so J I would suggest following eleven on Facebook, email list (karen at elevensandiego.com) and our web (once josh gets that going ? hopefully soon!). Lastly, why Eleven? Well, it?s ?one more? isn?t it? If you don?t get the reference go to Netflix now and rent Spinal Tap. Nuff Said.. Myself, Louis, Dennis, Willy, Karen, The Justins, Mattie and a myriad of other volunteers worked their asses off to strip down and rebuild and I couldn?t be happier for the consolidated effort and enthusiasm in the project let alone the tireless work ethic. I?ve always prided myself on the ambassadors we have in our family and it?s times like these that exemplifies our luck. Cask ale is a wonderful treat we try on offer each Friday and on the 2nd Saturday each month. Cask Conditioned or Real Ale is naturally carbonated and pulled thru a hand pump. We display the firkin on the bar for all to see and we pair the beer up with a Brewmaster?s inspired ?Hop Sausage Plate?. The trick with Cask Ale is there is an EOL (End Of Life) with such a fresh product and this is why we choose to have specified ?CASK NIGHTS?! We want you to experience and enjoy these cask condition ales as fresh as possible, free from artificial carbonation and as intended from the breweries. This is why we never have a cask on longer than 2 days tops and typically we pour thru them in less then 3 hours!
